Carlow Stiletto Sprint
A Huge Thank You!!
First of all we would like to thank our sponsors and supporters who helped to make this event such a success. These were Unum Ireland, Shaws Carlow, Connie Hyland Byrne Salon, Bernard Jenning’s Opticians, Ladies Loot, Café Formenti, Carlow Arts Festival, Lyrath Hotel, McHugh’s Courthouse, Order of Malta, Retro Records and Carlow Photographic Society
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped both before the big event and on the day. Their help with registration, shoe selection, dressing, supervising challenges, bucket shakers and as traffic wardens was invaluable. You were amazing and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Finally we would like to thank all the amazing sprinters for putting Carlow on the highest scale of the happiness index on June 16th.
You helped to raise over €6000!
See you all again in 2014. Watch this space for dates!
Are you man enough for stilettos?
Now is your chance to find out!! Three local charities in Carlow - Carlow Mental Health Association, Asante Eye Charity Kenya and Chic and Cheerful (a voluntary run charity shop in Carlow supporting women and children's projects in Kenya and Ethiopia) - in partnership with the Éigse Carlow Arts Festival, are organising a fundraiser, the alternative Wo-Men's Mini Marathon: the great 'Carlow Stiletto Sprint'. We aim to have up to 100 men running on Dublin Street in Stilettos! The aim of the event is to promote positive mental health through encouraging the whole community to come out and become involved in a fun and laughter fuelled event which will hopefully raise much needed funds for these charities. Shoes can be provided! There will be prizes for the fastest runner to complete the circuit, along with prizes for the most fabulous shoe and a costume artistic merit award for the outfit which best fits the theme of positive mental health. It will not be easy ... in keeping with the ethos of Éigse, there will be a few surprises along the way! To register, click here
